✨The attract post ✨

An attract post is a post you create that acts as the bait 🪝

When you cast it into the water - it attracts the fish (your dream readers) to your side of the river.

These posts are the branch between you and your reader.

They say:

“Hey this is what I’m about; you like these things too right?”

It’s the introduction from scrolling unaware -

To aware you exist and wanting to be part of your world.

But it only works if you get the ingredients right...

You need at least one of these:

🧠 Memorability
🍯 Sticky-ness
🍿 Funny/Entertaining
💭 Interest
🤝 Relatability
🪪 Tied to identity/ego

If I got an oat milk iced latte every time I heard an author say "I just draw a blank when I need to market my book" I'd be a happy (and very caffeinated) girl.

The culprit is fairy common and the fix is pretty easy when you finally spot it.

It's usually because you're trying to think of 101 ways to *convince* your readers to buy your book.

But your dream reader doesn't need convincing.

They just need the right introduction.

Instead of finding 101 ways of saying "here's my book, it's available here" followed by a hope and a prayer that someone will take a chance on it.

Find 101 *connection points* your reader has with your book.

Post about those.

It has a *crystal clear* audience and a built-in selling point.

Most authors want to jump straight into content without sitting with the foundational details first - and that's exactly why their posts don't quite hit home.

Step 1 - Deep (and I mean deeep) dive your dream reader.
Step 2 - Understand the 3 content missions (what you want each post to do).
Step 3 - Draft hooks and ideas that tie your reader to your mission.
Step 4 - Schedule based on current goals (new eyes, more trust, a launch).

Using @avarreid's Inamorata as the example - because I loved it and the dream reader for this book literally writes itself.
